Being in the midwest especially during the change of seasons, one never knows what to expect after leaving home for the day. This past April was no exception! It literally snowed 7 inches on a Sunday and by Tuesday it was completely melted and 80 degrees!!
This incredibly un-predictable weather can certainly make it challenging when attempting to schedule outdoor sessions with my clients during this time of the year!
In this maternity session’s case, we had just that but with a little luck we managed to grab a gorgeous spring evening in between a little snow storm the next day! LOL. We were originally scheduled for a Saturday but the stars aligned and we were able to switch the schedule around knowing the possibility of snow was coming for our Sat. session. These two travelled a good distance to come see me, so I figured I’d give them a beautiful Fox Valley tour during their session.
We started at my new studio in St. Charles and got some gorgeous shots of this new mama in a pretty gown. I got to use some of my new studio gear- the beautiful Del Mar backdrop from Intuition Backgrounds as well as my new pretty ivory velvet sofa housed in the studio. Then, we ventured outdoors and found a gorgeous little nook of trees behind the studio as well as some blossomed trees at St. Mary’s Park in St. Charles. Then… I knew there was one place I really wanted to shoot at especially since the time there is so limited. I introduced them to the gorgeous tulip garden in Geneva! I just LOVED that I was able to give this gorgeous couple some variety for their spring session! One might say I went a bit overboard, but in my opinion, it was worth it!! Timing is EVERYTHING!!!
